NEW ANTENNA MAGIC DESIGN PAGE -->

Currently, this site is devoted to experiments with compact, stealth, and mobile antennas. My ham radio station is located in a town house complex where antennas are normally not permitted. I have worked on several designs that are relatively harmonious with the complex and are not generally visible. These are the "stealth" antennas. As these structures are self supporting and rather compact, some imagination is required to develop stealth antennas that have high efficiency and low radiation angles. Also, since I travel extensively by car, I have spent some extra time ringing out the best efficiency I can from standard mobile antenna components, trying to get rid of electrical noise sources in the car with out destroying the electronics, and finally attempting to keep the format of the station as low profile as possible. You will find tables of impedance measurements, extensive information on using Hustler whips in the less obvious ways, and some information on optimizing the performance of these antenna systems. The following topics are now covered:

  1. Properties of Hustler whips on the roof rack of Subaru Wagons

  2. Stealth Zoom Up Masts
  3. Properties of Hustler whips as Dipoles (tri-band operation)
  4. Properties of Vertical Hustler whips with multiple masts (MO3) sections
  5. Sofware for Palomar R-X Noise Bridge
  6. Softrware for NDXF Beacon, Beacon Watch
  7. Quickie Vertical Using Quad Spreaders and mobile whips
